THE
FULNFSS OF GOD
By

Scripture Reading: Ephesians 3:16-19
The prayers of Paul display the depth of his burden and dedication to his ordained office as minister and revelator of the Gospel of the grace of God. He prayed selflessly and passionately for the saints as has no other man of God. Among the greatest of his petitions before the throne is that which is recorded in the passage of our text. His plea expressed the desire "that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height, and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."
God's Holy Spirit dwells within us. Christ lives in us. It remains only for us to yield ourselves and our lives to the uttermost. "Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:17, 18). Our focus must ever remain on Christ, "For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power" (Colossians 2:9, 10). "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth" (Colossians 3:2). Complete in Him! "Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (l Corinthians 15:57).
" ... We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us" (Romans 8:37). "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit" (Galatians 5:25).
