THE GOD OF ALL GRACE

Scripture Reading: Titus 2:11

"The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared  to all men." 0, the power of God's all sufficient grace!  Grace-unmerited favor. Grace- freely given. Grace and  mercy and peace, swathed in love and beneficiently bestowed  upon a depraved race oflost sinners! God's righteousness is  imparted to us, " .. .if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus  our Lord from the dead; who was delivered for our offences  and was raised for our justification. Therefore being justified  by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus  Christ by whom also we have access by faith into this grace  wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God"  (Romans 4:24-5:2). How sweetly does that old favorite song  of praise define it: "Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, Grace  that exceeds our sin and our guilt!"

How sad it is that so many in their spiritual blindness are  today attempting, as did the Galatians of Paul's day, to live  under the law, having received the gift of salvation by God's  grace. Paul's words for such as these are strong indeed,  "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherein Christ hath made  us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage"  (Galatians 5:1).

"The law entered, that the offence might abound. But  where sin abounded, grace did much more abound" (Romans  5:20). "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak  through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of  sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh ... For  Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that  believeth... I do not frustrate the grace of God for if  righteousness come by the law, then Christ died in vain"  (Romans 8:3; 10:4; Galatians 2:21).
