THE UNITY OF THE TRINTIY - By Robert E. Hana

Scripture Reading: I Corinthians 12:4-6

In the realm of mathematical formulae, one does not  equal three. God cannot be analyzed by scientific examination  but must be accepted and believed on the basis of faith alone.  Only thus can mortal man conceive of Go d's triune being, each  of His three identities being distinct and unique. Proofs of this  miraculous triple oneness can be found only in the very Word  of God it self.

All three who comprise the Holy Trinity are scripturally  identified as Deity, Of the Father we read, "Even from  everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God" (Psalms 90:2b). The  Son declares, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the  end, the first and the last" (Revelation 22:13). And regarding  the Holy Spirit we find, "Christ through the eternal Spirit  offered Himself without spot to God" (Hebrews 9:14).

Each of the three Persons of the Godhead is credited with  infinite power. It is the Father of whom Peter writes, stating  that the elect "are kept by the power of God" (I Peter 1:5). And  Paul declares, regarding the Son, "Most gladly therefore will  I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may  rest upon me" (II Corinthians 12:9). And of the Holy Spirit we  read that mighty signs and wonders were wrought "by the  power of the Spirit of God" (Romans 15:19).

As regards the inspiration of the Scriptures, all members  of the Triune Body are recorded as the true source. "All  Scripture is given by inspiration of God" (II Timothy 3:16).  The Prophets searched "what, or what manner of time the  Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified  beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow" (I Peter 1:11). The Holy Spirit: II Peter 1:21.
